Cariocan tropical flower on Kodak film

I was having a walk through the Botanic Garden in Rio de Janeiro, when, while I stopped looking at the Corcovado in the background, this lady and her red dress jumped out from nowhere ant start walking away from me. I felt like Alice when she first saw the rabbit; grabbed my Hasselblad and, despite light was crap, I took the picture.

Picasso's The Guitar Player in Rio de Janeiro


I don't normally make this kind of photography: I'm more into controlled-light-and-situation photography like portrait, fashion or landscape. But I was walking in Lapa, a Rio de Janeiro district, when I sow this man taking a rest in the shadow: the position of his head and shoulder reminded me of the painting by Picasso titled The Guitar Player. I couldn't help it: I took my camera and shot.
